Say “NO” To Alcohol When You Are On Xanax Medication, You Are NOT Ending Depression But Your LIFE

Monday, April 28th, 2008

By Denzing Jones Depression sees no age, no color, no race, no gender and enters your life without letting you know. It can make you feel isolated; can make you cry alone willing to be with someone and when you get friends then willing to go lonely. Well, I am talking about depression that is potent enough to make your life a burden. Who doesnt want to stay happy? Who doesnt want to cheer up at the bright mornings? Of course, everybody! But, its not possible until you beat that depression. Now, you will start finding a way to kick this depression out of your life. Many of us may get hold of alcohol. Sometimes back, men were supposed to drink in order to relax and beat the stress. They didnt want to pose themselves as weak by crying or doing some similar activities. So, the easy way out was alcohol. But today, you will find an equal number of women in America, taking up alcohol in order to suppress this depression. No doubt, you may get relaxed for some time. You may feel light, out of all your worries. But remember, as soon as your senses get back to normal state, you will feel your depression increased. Not just depression, but you are adorned with many health problems as well. You may carry on with more and more alcohol to find that transient rest and relaxation, but unknowingly, you are heading to a cavernous valley of chronic depression and irreversible health problems. Nowadays medical sciences have given ways to beat depression. Yes! I am talking about anti-depressants such as Xanax that make a person cheerful and give that feel good effect. Unlike alcohol, the effect is not transient in this case. They are found quite effective, permanent and reliable. Millions of people have been benefited with these anti-depressants and xanax has been voted as the most preferred one to beat depression and anxiety. It simply acts upon the brain chemicals and nervous system that are responsible for those negative moods and emotions. Xanax balances these chemicals in a wonderful manner and relieves you from that killing depression in an easy way. However, xanax is an addictive medication and should not be continued or discontinued without consulting a doctor. But overall, xanax is the most recommended prescription by health care professional all over the world. A warning to all those people who are a victim of depression and make the mistake of taking a combo of xanax and alcohol to get faster or better relief. It may sound good as they suppress depression, but in reality, it is an absolute deadly combination. Xanax and Alcohol both work on the nervous system. You may experience severe health problems like seizures and out of character acts, like aggressive and violent behavior. By this time, you must have got a fair idea of effects of xanax alcohol combo on depression. So, the final words, this is for all of you, who are suffering from mild, moderate or severe depression, to steer clear of alcohol if you are on anti-depressants like xanax. Dont invite more problems on yourself when you are already fully-chocked with the king of problems i.e. Depression. Let xanax treat you calmly. Cheer up with the gift of life and enjoy its every moment. The writer dwells on issues such as anxiety, depression, stress and the anti-anxiety pill Xanax. Enticing Butterflies To Your Garden

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

By Mary Hanna Enticing butterflies to your garden is fun and simple too. Butterflies are easy to attract to your garden if you plant a garden where the caterpillar (pupa step) has plants to eat and then the butterfly has flowers from which to sip nectar. Butterfly gardens are simple to plant and will provide you and your friends and family a chance to peek butterflies in their natural environment. The basics are an open space with tons of sunshine and a location that is not windy. Choose a spot with lots of sunlight with a few rocks or stones that can warm up on which the butterflies will bask in the afternoon sun. Strive to locate your garden close to hedges or shrubs that will aid in shielding them from the hardy winds. If it is too windy, the butterflies wont stay around for any length of time. The hedge or shrub needs to develop food for the caterpillar. You can find out what the caterpillar likes best from your Nursery Garden Center. Butterflies relish mud puddles where they can drink the water and soak up minerals. A patch of moist soil will make them joyful. Most urgent of all is that the garden be pesticide free. Some gardeners like to utilize pesticides to chase away unwanted pests, unfortunately it will keep the butterflies from visiting your garden too. Plant your butterfly garden in a cranny where it will be free of chemical pesticides. Worthier still, ask your Garden Headquarters about organic gardening. Flowers with nectar are a need for a butterfly garden. When planting these nectar sources try to put in plants that will provide nectar throughout the growing season since these are the origin of subsistence for the butterflies. Dont discount shrubs and wildflowers. Roses, geraniums and lilies have no nectar so plant them somewhere else. Have your garden assorted to allure a the greater quantity of butterflies. Another ingredient for the butterfly garden is a source for larva food. The caterpillar needs food to develop into a butterfly. If there is no food present they will die. Plant some herbs for both of you. They love parsley, dill, and fennel for their meal. What herbs they dont eat you can collect for home cooking with fresh herbs. A butterfly garden can also be planted in containers. Purchase some elegant pots and plant them with flowers that retain a magnificent bouquet as well as vivid pretty colors (available at your Garden Center). Petunias, daylilies or sweet alyssum will do the trick. Of course the butterfly bushes are a given, or plant some hanging baskets with Impatients (shade will be necessary). Some gardeners like to fashion there own feeder and solution. And it is easy to do. Put 4 parts water to 1 part sugar in a pot, bring it to a boil and cook it until the sugar dissolves. Bring it to room tempetature. Use a container that is somewhat shallow, drench a paper towel with the solution and position it in the garden receptacle. Deposit a stone in the garden container so the butterflies have a seat to rest on while they are feeding. This would be a great project for the kids. Have them maintain a diary of each of the various species that stop by your butterfly garden. Let them look up the butterflies on the computer to understand all about each special butterfly and it becomes not only enjoyable, but a learning experience besides. Because there are so many growing zones in the United States you will want to speak with your Nursery Headquarters for suggestions of what plants to utilize for attracting butterflies in your individual zone. There is an ancient American Indian Fable about butterflies: To have a dream come true you must seize a butterfly. Whisper to the butterfly what your request is and then set it free. This tiny messenger will carry your wish to the Great Spirit in the sky and it will become true. What a great folktale. Happy Gardening! Copyright Mary Hanna All Rights Reserved. How to Grow Spring Cabbage!

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

By Terry Blackburn Spring Cabbage The spring cabbage is ready for use in the spring; they are not spring-sown. These are grown throughout the winter; the best position to grow these is a sheltered spot on well-drained land. They need a light soil, which will warm up quickly after the turn of the year and that will encourage the roots to get growing early. In order that good use is made of the land they are planted immediately after the harvesting of a well-manured crop such as potatoes or peas, then it is not necessary for any further manure or special soil preparation. Sowing A semi-shady position is required in which to sow the seeds. The seeds are sown in July but can be sown up to the middle of August in the south of the British Isles. Rake over the ground then firm by treading, rake once more to give a fine crumbly surface, and then, with the corner of the draw hoe, scratch out drills in. (12mm) deep and 6 in. (15cm) apart. Sow the seed thinly into the drills, and then cover carefully using the rake. Firm over the top with the back of the rake head. Planting Out The seeds should be ready to plant into their growing position about the middle of September. Water the seed bed well the day before you intend to plant out, this will help to allow the plants to be lifted easily without damaging them. With a dibber make rows of holes in the planting out area 1 ft. (45cm) apart, allowing 1 ft. (30cm) between the holes in each row. From the seedbed, lift out the young plants with a hand-fork so that the roots remain covered with a little soil. It is much easier to complete the lifting task before starting to re-plant, it will save time and energy rather than making many journeys backwards and forwards between plots, lifting a few and planting them. Lay the plants on the seedbed keeping them covered with damp sacking until they are ready to re-plant. Plant the seedlings firmly, after which they should be well watered taking great care not to disturb the roots. General Care Keep down the weeds between each row using a hoe until early November. If the soil is heavy, make a 4 in. (101mm) furrow between the rows to carry away excess moisture in case the weather is wet. Once the crop has put on some growth give the plants a top dressing of dried blood at the rate of oz. (15g) per plant. Terry Blackburn. Connecting Deeply in Your Marriage through Shared Feelings

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

By Lee Hefner My husband wont show me his feelings. We hear it over and over again from frustrated wives. And a husband who wont share emotions can be an obstacle to a better marriage. Why? True intimacy the closeness that results when two people can honestly share deep feelings is elusive when one partner cant or wont reveal who he truly is emotionally. I believe that finding intimacy in a marriage is made more difficult because of the way boys are raised in most societies. Were taught to never show pain or allow ourselves to be vulnerable. Feelings are for girls. When I grew up, this was the accepted definition of what manliness was all about. You solved problems or played sports if you were a boy. Many men raised in this model have never known any other reality, and they take this attitude into their marriage. The sad result too often is missed opportunities at happiness, embittered partners, even divorce. Sometimes after years of marriage, couples ask us, What went wrong in our marriage? What I found out was a secret that has given me a great marriage and been a key to a successful life. The secret is this: Emotions are a source of strength and power. And by being sensitive to what youre feeling and being real with your spouse regarding your emotions in a positive way, you can set the stage for a wonderful, rewarding and fulfilling marriage. Men who never tap into their feelings dont realize that they could have more joy, spontaneity, laughter, and better sex in their marriage by following a simple prescription. But at some level, many are afraid of confronting feelings, especially negative ones, because they havent developed the skills to handle them appropriately. When many couples have a fight, the usual response from both partners is defensiveness and mutual blame. The predictable outcome in the marriage is a downward spiral. Couples may shut down emotionally, intimacy is lost and the quality of the marriage suffers. But a paradox in relationships is that moments of conflict hold the greatest potential for emotional intimacy. This can happen when the partners take responsibility for working on themselves rather than getting caught up in blaming the other. Here are some guidelines that will help both partners to use their feelings to improve their marriage: 1. Realize that emotions can be a powerful ally in helping you get what you want in your marriage relationship. Be open to the possibility that feelings (even negative emotions) offer the potential and power to create a win-win situation for yourself and your spouse. Be aware that showing emotions appropriately can be a path to strength and success. 2. Notice what emotions you feel when youre with your spouse. Dont hold back in showing your spouse positive feelings like love, appreciation, and respect. But pay special attention when youre upset or feeling angry. Its been said that there are really only two basic emotions love and fear. If youre feeling some negative emotion like anger, stop and take a deep breath. Deep down, you may have some fear that is being activated. Ask yourself: What fear does this situation bring up for me? Be willing to share those fears with your spouse, using I statements rather than you. You might say something like: When you made us late last night to the party my first reaction was to get mad at you. Then I realized I really felt embarrassed because I was afraid our friends would think I wasnt reliable. Take responsibility for your emotions and adopt the attitude of How can I use this experience to grow? 3. Remember to be kind to your spouse, even while disagreeing. You can use compassion while gently voicing your concerns. Choose your words carefully. Never stomp on the vulnerable side that your spouse shows. And ask her (or him) to show you the same respect. Its important to learn to tolerate your emotional discomfort during an argument without lashing out at your spouse. It can take courage to maintain courtesy and respect for your spouse even in the midst of disagreement. But its well worth it. Reaching for true intimacy requires opening up some part of yourself that is tender and easily hurt. That part is your innermost self the sacred ground of the spirit. It is tender grass that an insensitive partner could easily trample on. Make sure you dont step on your spouses feelings when she shares them with you. 4. Be willing to take responsibility for your side in a disagreement and apologize for your part. Above all, avoid blaming your spouse. Even if you feel justified in criticizing your spouse, use moderation. Recognition from you that every disagreement has two sides and that you respect her right to have her own perception will go a long way toward ending a quarrel. This creates an opening for reconciliation. Sharing feelings can be scary for men, because it goes against ingrained beliefs and habits about what it means to be male in this society. But in a relationship of compassion and trust, the sharing of deep emotions can create a marriage of profound intimacy that can only be described as a soul connection. And this type of relationship has universal appeal. Because happiness is a currency that everyone wants. Tupperware and Rubbermade Thank you

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

By Lance Winslow There are many reasons we in the United States are so fortunate not to have the horrible diseases they do in other countries, especially in Asia and Africa. We have modern sewer systems, fresh water, refrigeration and good health care. But we should also consider some of our habits as Americans and some of the companies, which have bought us products, which help us keep our food fresh. Tupperware is one of the reasons we as Americans are so healthy, since its inception, it has brought quality products to market to seal in freshness, prevent bacteria growth and allow people to save portions for a later date without risking contamination. Rubbermade another company, which emulated the Tupperware type products has also helped immensely by using its mass marketing abilities in major retail outlets. Some would say, yes, this is all true; so what is the point? The point is we all to often forget those things that are right in front of us. Go to your refrigerator right now and your cupboard and look at all the Tupperware type products? You see and these same types of products are in the households of 300 million Americans protecting our food supplies. In some countries the mortality rates are five deaths for every child who reaches 8 years old. In the United States we have fresh water, sewer systems, refrigeration, protection of food supplies with laws and thank god we have Tupperware type products. Increase Your Attractiveness: Identity Building - Some Helpful Advice

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

By Stephen N. I had a recent email from an NYC guy named AJ with an interesting question about identity building. There is a lot of talk and writing about identity in the pick-up community, most of which is based in the game mentality. Since I am no longer at all interested in anything based in game, I thought it might be helpful to write a bit about what identity means from the standpoint of a guy seeking a girlfriend, and a healthy social life. If you look up the word identity in the dictionary, it will tell you this: 1 a : sameness of essential or generic character in different instances; 2 a : the distinguishing character or personality of an individual Sameness and Distinguishing are the critical words here. What is constant about you? When you relate to others, what is it that you notice about them that distinguishes them from others? What might someone say about you? Feel free to ask people, if you want. Typically, a person has a chief feature which somehow defines them to others. It might be that they are generous, open, or happy. Or, it could mean that they are suspicious, thrifty and negative. This little exercise is useful, but not really what we are looking for here. What is more useful to men looking to improve their relationships with women, is to both understand themselves internally and then how that manifests externally (which is the entire point of my company, CEIC). Dare I say, the entire point of the game is to refuse what is internal and attempt in every way possible to create an entirely new identity to make manifest externally. This leads to the ongoing pattern of guys seeming incongruent. They seem incongruent because they ARE incongruent nay, not seems madam (as Hamlet might say). Heres the rub though, when a guy tries through whatever measure to become congruent with this new identity, material, routine, clothing etc., he denies his true nature, his true identity. Most guys in the community have a VERY apparent strangeness to them no one I have met well, save a very few (Mike, my former partner, was one of them, 26, who worked with us at Project Hollywood, another), are cool, laid-back guys with a real life, and a real sense of their identity. The others have filled their brain with behaviors, thought patterns, and enforced circuitry which is very unhealthy, and ironically, furthers them from their goal. It INCREASES the real space between them and themselves, exacerbating the issue of being incongruent. What happens then? Well, the only women who would be attracted to such a confused and childish specimen would be someone equally confused and lost. You attract AT your level. Let this be your New Years warning against pick-up, or at least most offerings of pick-up, that you can only develop yourself by becoming and evolving as yourself in the end, you will fool NO ONE by playing in the land of make believe. If you want better relationships, and higher-quality women/people in your life, you have to develop yourself first. Also, an identity is NEVER built it is something that we discover along the path of leading a healthy lifestyle. Identity, in the CEIC lexicon, is the same as self-image. The only time a man needs to build his identity is when he refuses to discover and develop the one given to him. This arrogance makes the host pay dearly down the roadthis is your second warning So, how then do we develop our identities in a healthy way, which can naturally attract like-minded people into our lives? First refuse, right now, to ever play games with women or people again. No more gimmicks, no more routines, no more FRs, LRs, DHVs etc. Cmon guys are you still playing this BS? Second what do you WANT out of life? What do you feel is your purpose for being here? It certainly isnt to manipulate and lie, I can assure you. If you were to die today, what would be the deepest source of sorrow for you? If you can sincerely face this question, you have a chance of really growing-up. The key to knowing and feeling your identity, is in first knowing and feeling your purpose. You might not know the true meaning of your life, but you might at least be curious enough NOW to begin to strive to understand that. Third based on knowing your real purpose, how then should you spend your time? If you could architect your calendar, what would it look like? One thing that can directly help improving my self image, is to spend time with people whom I feel happy to be with, and in doing things that fill me with passion and joy. Taking action in the direction on REAL self-development and life-enhancement is the best way to improve self-esteem. Fourth Speaking of who you spend your time with, how active is your social circle? How often do you need social interaction? Most of us need a balance of being alone, and being with people. Do you have this balance? Also, how often do you venture out with them and try new things? New restaurants, events, galleries, movies, partiesthere is certainly a lot more than meets the eye happening in your neck of the woods, are you actively exploring this? Try doing one new thing/restaurant/venue per month with your friends. Fifth With intelligence, can you grow this social circle? Can you involve more people who share like-minded interests and perspectives? This is where social skills actually come in handy (which I cover ad nauseam in How To Get A Girlfriend and the Natural Attraction audio program) so that you can present yourself in a socially intelligent way to people, not in a socially manipulative way BIG difference. By meeting new people, and by encouraging your friends to bring along new people, you very naturally are able then to meet new people. If you do interesting and cool activities, these people will be even more interested in being involved. What happens if you can master these five points is that you really begin to grow and build self-esteem by honoring your true nature. There is nothing that can be gained by denying your true nature. Also, you begin to magnetize like-minded people to you, including WOMEN. The best way to meet women for relationships is to attract them to you by living autonomously and honestly. If your lifestyle is actively social you will have NO problem meeting women AND they will have things in common with you. Also, women (and men) tend to want to meet someone for a relationship in a safe and healthy way. The healthy women dont WANT to meet anyone via a cold approach, they want it to happen as it happens normally through the process of living and socializing. So, in short, there really is no identity building in real life (there might be in the Donky-Kong game lifestyle). What there is is identity discovery and development, but from the inside-out not from the ego-in. This is the only way to experience real self-esteem development, and therefore real, healthy relationships with people in general, and with women in specific. That is the point of this website, and CEIC. Thanks for your question AJ. What is a Trac Phone?

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Agust_Hauksson]Agust Hauksson Having a cell phone today is a must have. So many people are on the go, need to communicate with others while they are off, and running. Cell phones can be expensive if you are not careful about how you use them. There is a way to stay on a budget and still talk on the go. You can do this with a trac phone. They are the newest invention in pre paid phones. With a trac phone, you will buy the actual phone for a good low price and then you simply buy airtime talk minutes and add them to your phone. It is simple and fun. You can purchase your trac phone at most electronic stores and the cards are sold there and at almost any department store as well. You will find that getting a trac phone will help you a lot and keep you on a strict calling budget. When you buy the phone, you must first activate it. You will have to call a toll free number or go online to do this. You will enter the EMI numbers and a code and you are all set. Once you have your phone activated, you can then enter a prepaid card for airtime. You can also do this online or on the phone. To keep adding airtime, you simply enter the card numbers into the prepaid selection on the phone. You can find the cards to be in any denomination that you want. You can get ten minutes, fifty minutes and even one hundred air time minutes for your trac phone. Of course, the more minutes you want, the more you will pay for your card. Paying for the trac phone cards and the trac phone is still less than you would pay for a monthly service fee for a regular cell phone. You will pay less and still have all the use that you want. You can still receive phone calls and even make text messages. The only difference is that you are in control so that you do not go over your desired amount of minutes. Your phone will keep you notified of the minutes or units that you have left on the cards. You may have to also activate cards at certain times. Most of the phones require that you activate a pre paid card at least every three months. Trac phones allow you to add airtime at any given point, however, you must do it before the allotted scheduled time or you may face disconnection. If this happens, all you have to do is reactivate your phone online or over the telephone. It is not a big ordeal and can be taken care of easily. Having a trac phone will give you freedom and keep you in line when it comes to your spending habits. You will have the security of knowing that you can call when you need to and also know that you can add as much air time as you want to your phone. You will enjoy your phone and not having to worry about high monthly cell phone bills. Copyright 2006 - Agust Hauksson. Agust is a regular contributor of articles to many online publications. Keeping Our Language Real Follows The Example Of Jesus

Monday, April 14th, 2008

By Les Herron In the days of Jesus it was the Jewish custom to discuss religious teachings within the context of community. There would be those who would teach from a position of authority but with the coming of the Holy Spirit it was also expected that ALL the brothers and sisters could be taught of and led by God. Acts said that they met in the temple and from house to house. It appears that those who already attended ‘church’ (the Jews) continued to go to church but that they engaged non-believers in their homes. This forum of discussing spiritual things with one another was one factor in the great multiplication of Christians and thousands being saved and added to the Early Church. Our lives are testimonies to who God is and how he has changed our hearts and lives. These testimonies, while good to hear on Sunday, are not to be limited to a church service but are to be literally shouted from the roof tops. Good things are happening to us all the time yet we rarely give God the credit. When bad things happen we immediately ask God why. Most people have no desire to engage in a religious discussion but almost everyone is eager to partake of a discussion of a spiritual nature. When we discuss God in the context of how he moves within a church service then we are discussing him with religious jargon set in a religious ceremony which is only off-putting and confusing to the non-churched. Our discussion of God must become more normalized in order to be effective. We must learn, as Jesus modeled, to answer the right questions, discern the deeper questions of the heart, and not be easily offended by arrogance and ignorance. One great way to learn a new way to describe God is to read the scriptures in a user-friendly text such as The Message. It strips away all the phrases we are so familiar with and almost shocks us with its bluntness and simplicity. Another excellent way to gain new and fresher words to describe who God is to us is to learn to pray in a way that reflects how we really talk in life. Our prayer life can be one of the most negatively religious practices we hold as we seek to position ourselves in a place of righteousness through the use of the right words that won’t be offensive to God; never realizing that this cover up with our words is exactly what offends God! One last trick in overcoming our restrictive religious language is to really listen to how we come across in our spiritual conversations with those around us. There is an old saying in education that “it was never really taught if it was not caught” which simply means that just because you said it does not mean anyone learned it. Check out how people are responding to how you describe God. You may be surprised that no one is responding to what you know because they do not understand the language you are speaking. Let’s keep our language real and our discussions open. Let’s refuse to defend religious positions that do not reflect the Father’s heart of love and grace. Let’s make a decision right now that we will learn the language of the people that do not yet know the goodness of our Father. Learning new tricks so that all may know. Vision Quest

Friday, April 11th, 2008

By Jan Engles Smith A vision quest is a Native American ceremony that in the Lakota language is called hanblecha, which means, crying for a vision. It is a calling out to Spirit, to God, to Great Spirit with a request and questing for an answer. The vision quest is traditionally done for four days and four nights. The person on the quest sits isolated with no food or water connected through prayer to Spirit. Different cultures with similar intents conduct the quest with variations in time and practice. In all cases, the person on the vision quest places himself/herself in a precarious position and trusts and calls out to Spirit in a ceremonial way. Additionally, other participants remain in camp and offer support to the persons on the quest. These supporters check in on questers periodically and pray for them during their vision quest. It took one year to prepare for my hanblecha. Traditionally, there is a year of preparation, the actual vision quest, and then a year of unfolding. I reference this story to underscore that God is continually teaching me about love. Unconditional love is the basis of the universe and spirituality. Too many humans have no experience of love without conditions. In our society, love often has strings attached. Punishments, judgments, overpowering demands, and competition are all marionette strings that control human behavior. If you have not experienced unconditional love, it is almost impossible to understand or to hold its wisdom. I hardly have words to explain the phenomenon in general terms, and it is even more difficult to describe it in the way that I experienced it. I had many mystical experiences during my vision quest. I would like to focus on one in particular. I feel that this experience was not only meaningful for me but also contains a message for all beings. Let me preface the story with a ritual that I did the morning before I left my house. I have a little bag of terra cotta hearts that I often give as gifts to my clients after I do a soul retrieval. Each heart has a word inscribed on its face to impart some sort of inspiration or message. I usually meditate with the bag in my lap or in my hands, asking the spirits which divine message I should give. I then reach in with my hand and pull a heart. On the morning of my quest I did this for myself. The heart message that I drew was willingness. I took it to place on the altar I had created at my vision quest spot. On the first night of my quest the August moon was full. Nature had provided me with wonderful weather conditions and surrounding beauty. The moon was big, beautiful, and in full glory as I viewed her from my sacred spot. I held a prayer stick that I had made for the event-a sacred stick with white leather prayer bundles containing tobacco hanging from it. Tobacco is often used as an offering to the spirits. If you place your prayer, through intention, into the tobacco, then wrap the tobacco up in a piece of cloth, it becomes a prayer bundle. I had chosen beautiful white leather for my bundles, and had treated the stick as a work of art for I had put much creativity and intention into creating this sacred item. In fact, my whole year of preparation had involved this level of intensity. I took the entire process extremely seriously and went the extra mile to insure that I prepared appropriately. I had no doubt in my mind that when I entered my sacred spot for my vision quest, Spirit knew I was serious. The spirits had asked me to do this sacred ceremony in a previous shamanic journey, so here I was. Even though I had gone through all of this preparation, there was one thing for which I was not prepared. I was ill when I began the quest. I had developed a severe sore throat and cold days before the ceremony was to start. By the time I was to go to my spot, I was extremely ill. It took every bit of energy I could muster to go through with it. I also had no idea how uncomfortable I would be sitting on the ground with an aching body. My senses were dulled and whatever natural abilities I possessed were hampered by the oppressive aches and discomforts of the sickness. I felt very distant from Spirit. I found myself staring at the terra cotta heart willingness. Even though I felt completely disconnected and discouraged, I had the willingness to continue and to trust Spirit. It was about 2:00 a.m. and I was sitting with my back against a tree. I had been sitting for hours taking in the solitude of the night. It was during this quiet time that I distinctly heard someone say Jan. I looked around, expecting to see that my support person had come to check on me. No one was there. I again heard my name, Jan. I looked around again. This time I stood up and turned. I heard it a third time and realized that the sound was coming from above. I looked to the moon. Could the moon be calling my name? I was seized by emotion. My legs started to tremble, my eyes filled with tears. Because of my weakened condition, I had no energy to doubt or to second-guess what was happening. I just followed the direction of my heart. I raised my prayer stick to the moon and held it up and out, as if offering it to this mighty sacred one of the sky. I began crying out my prayers of intention. I knew that the moon was hearing me and communicating directly with me on this sacred night. The next thing I knew I was traveling through space. I traveled up and up with the speed of light, all the way to the moon. I magically became the moon. As I merged with it, I could see myself standing down on Earth: This little person, holding her prayer stick into the sky, crying, and trembling both with emotion and weakness. Her heart filled with love, dedication, willingness; asking to be heard and noticed. I was overwhelmed with compassion, with unconditional love, with emotions that no words can describe. I had become the moon. I had become Great Spirit, the universe. On an emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual level, I experienced a love that was greater than anything I had ever imagined or humanly experienced. My cells throbbed as they absorbed and responded to this experience. I had no bodily connection to this little person I was watching below, but I had an overwhelming heart connection. I loved her beyond what I had ever experienced in the human realm. I understood what it means when God says to love unconditionally, not only others but oneself as well. I do not know how long I spent on this sky adventure. When my spirit reentered my body, it slammed me into the ground and I remember hitting my head hard. I also heard a thud, a sound like that of someone hitting you square on the chest with a flat hand. The experience was like none I had ever had. Even with all of the journeying I had done, I was not prepared for this encounter. The experience was not induced by drumming or intention. I physically and audibly heard my name called and I responded by making myself available. Spirit then took me on a journey to learn about love-the kind of love that Creator holds for us, and the love of which the universe is made. It awakened in me a deep understanding of what Spirit means when it refers to love. This love is of the magnitude contained in the light so often referred to in near-death experiences. It is the love on which enlightenment is based. It is beyond what many of us know, but it is within reach of all of us. When unconditional love is revealed, it serves as an example of what life can be like here on earth. Spirit does not wave such promise in front of us and then say, Sorry you cannot have any. Spirit allows us such remarkable experiences so that we can have a tangible event stored in our cellular memory to call upon when the time is right. This memory compels us to keep sight of what we strive for-peace, unconditional love, and freedom from judgment of others and of self. Spirit works in miraculous ways if you just provide the willingness. Jan promotes self-healing, empowerment, better communities, a healthier world and conducts workshops for shamanism and journeying. Relaxation Rituals Using Aromatherapy

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

By Daphne Moss We all need to find time to be with ourselves. To relax, to recharge, to create and to be fit to give to the ones we love. Sometimes it can seem like an impossible feat to even find just 15 minutes to sit quietly and take a breather, let alone 30 minutes to meditate and think about nothing. We all must take time to bath and dress each morning and prepare ourselves for bed each night, so why not steal time during these necessary rituals to create a more mindful experience. All it takes is some candles and a few aromatherapy oils to create the magic. How? 1. Take unscented tea-lites or scented container candles and place around your bath or shower and around your sink and keep them there. Have matches handy in a bathroom cabinet. This way, whenever you enter the bathroom make it a habit to light your candles regardless of whether you plan to be there 10 minutes or 2 hours. How about candles scented with frankincense, geranium, rosewood, myrrh, neroli, rose or vetiver? These are soothing and meditative scents and the flickering lights of the candles become hypnotic and slows the racing mind. 2. Create an aromatherapy bathing experience. “When you need to relax, bathing is more therapeutic than showering. When you’re immersed in water, nearly 90 percent of your weight is displaced, so you feel lighter, slightly suspended, and instantly at ease. Water is the only medium that perfectly contours and flows freely around your body, and warm water promotes peace and tranquility by lowering your blood pressure,” says Jo Glanville-Blackburn, author of Home Spa - Relax. Nothing compares to the magical simplicity of a bath. But it seems that life itself prevents us from truly enjoying the experience. It only takes a minute to add 6 drops of essential oil to the bath. But the effects can last for hours. Try the following essential oils: Lavender - Lavender is balancing. It soothes the mind and body when you’re under pressure and can treat a headache and insomnia. Chamomile - Chamomile is calming. Rose - Rose works as a sensual sedative. It calms the nerves, lifts the spirits and restores inner peace and tranquility. Geranium - Geranium acts as both a tonic and a sedative on the nerves and is one of the best oils for relieving anxiety. Sandalwood - Sandalwood is both seductive and sedative. And if you still can’t seem to find time for that bath 3. Add an essential oil to your shower gel. Have a separate empty 1 or 2 ounce bottle set aside. Each morning you can add your shower gel to this bottle and add 2-3 drops of essential oil per ounce of gel. This way you can use a different oil each morning. Where there is a desire, there is a way. Don’t neglect to take care of yourself. Find the time to pamper yourself and relax.
